Much has been said about a potential future Pan-European ethnostate, uniting Europeans from the Urals to the Atlantic, which would be a counterweight to the hegemony of the neoliberal United States and the great Asian power, China. Conversely, the rebirth of nationalist sentiments in Eastern Europe after the fall of the Soviet Union brought to surface old conflicts–the situation in Ukraine being the prime example–not to mention the rise of secessionism in Western Europe with the likes of Scotland in the UK, Catalonia and Basque Country in Spain, and Flanders in Belgium. These movements, despite having a civic nationalist streak on the surface, indicate a deep longing of Europeans for a return to genuine forms of Identity.
However, this discussion is still purely theoretical and presupposes that Europeans will regain their rule over their homelands, ousting foreign invaders and parasitic cosmopolitan elites. On a practical side, before acting one must think, and that means having a certain mentality which will be based on the nationalist way of life.
In all the Western Canon no one identified what it means to be member of a nation better than Herodotus, the Greek historian. He lists kinship (homoaimon), language (homoglosson), and way of life (homotropon) as the defining pillars of “nation.”
Let us further analyze homotropon. With whom do I have more in common? Could it be with my nation of biological origin? Or the nation which is comprised of people whose entire being revolves around sportsball, a repetitive job, and drinking until you pass out? With an Italian nationalist who has experienced the same worries and thoughts or even has faced the same persecution as I have? Or with a braindead Greek whether he is a Bolshevik or belongs to the “tribe” of narcissistic yuppies? Even the way that nationalists walk, dress and talk is more likely to be similar across the nations of Europe.
In Ancient Greece, the concept of homotropon involved common rituals of sacrifice. We may not offer parts of our crop or slaughter animals to the gods, but we offer part of ourselves, our time and our resources bearing a personal cost for something greater than us. That binds together a Spaniard, a Frenchman, and a Norwegian more strongly than with random people of their respective nationalities. A common everyday European does not share their sacrifice which is unique in participation of the ideological and political struggle.
At this point the question of common language (homoglosson) is raised. Of course, our continent contains myriad languages and dialects, a true organic diversity indeed. At first glance this could be a cause of communication breakdown or misunderstanding among nationalists across Europe. However, in reality there is no serious linguistic barrier. On the one hand, most European languages belong to the common Indo-Εuropean linguistic family and on the other, the overwhelming majority of Europeans speak basic English which has been the lingua franca since the days of the British Empire.
As far as kinship and ancestry (homoaimon) is concerned, a quick overview after the carnage of the First and Second World War would indicate that national differences are too stark to be ignored. However, if one walked the streets of Paris today you would not see German soldiers drinking coffee at “Deux Magots.” You would see streams of hijab-wearing women with strollers followed by a multitude of children. The great replacement of the historic nations of Europe is here. A common threat presented by the rising tide of illegal immigration from Asia and Africa requires a common united response.
On top of everything already mentioned, the problems faced by nationalists in their countries are similar. Their countries are run by the same corrupt elite, face the same problems of majority dispossession from foreign invaders, and exist under the pressure of a usurious banking establishment.
It is my belief that the European nations must function in unison in order to survive biologically, culturally, and as fully sovereign on the Continent. How? With cheap political deals among the EU bureaucrats? Asking for “help” from wealthy extra-European powers like the Gulf States, China, or even Turkey?
Of course not. Survival lies in building “the Nation of Nationalists.” It is not an easy task by any stretch. The process is well under way. Intellectuals like Guillaume Faye, Tomislav Sunic, and others speak about European Nationalism, extending the concept to people of White European ancestry outside of the Continent. Various Identitarian groups throughout Europe collaborate emphasizing the defence of our common land and totality of nations. French patriots from Generation Identitaire adopt as their heritage the lambda (Λ) symbol of ancient Spartans. As a Greek, I consider Johann Goethe and Ezra Pound a direct continuation of the temple of Parthenon and the Roman Colosseum, like branches from the same tree of civilization which has lasted for millennia. Each European has the duty of defending that.
The bells of European Nationalism are ringing all over the Continent. Whether it is Casa Pound in Italy, White Rex in Russia, or the Alliance for Peace and Freedom in the European Parliament, the Nation of Nationalists is growing with intensity.
